Harry de Wit
composer/musician (The Netherlands)
Composer/musician Harry de Wit is internationally well-known for his compositions
and has a reputation in the domain of the improvisation music. Next to his work as a
composer/musician he also designs electro-acoustic instruments.
Harry de Wit often creates music for dance, theatre and film productions.
Amongst others he worked for theatre directors Ivo van Hove and Johan van
Doesburg and for choreographers such as Hans van Manen, Beppie Blankert, Laurie
Booth, Lucinda Childs, Ted Brandsen and Pieter de Ruiter.
In 2005 he won the Proscenium Prize for his essential contribution to the Dutch
Theatre and in September 2006 he is going to receive the Nederlandse Dansdagen
Award for is contribution to the dance.
