Three musicians cause bewilderment and mesmerise the listeners with their digital strings and extreme vocals. Singer MC Wisecrack and 'string players' Chris Heijens and Andries de Marez Oyens take us on a astral safari through trance, rap, film music, ambient and noise.
The instruments of Lucid terror are three metal one-stringed harps, which they developed and built themselves. These Strings enforce an intuitive style of playing. Every movement of them activates a complexity of sounds, so that the handling of the Strings is just as subjective and fleeting as the use of the human voice.
In spite of the use of digital techniques Lucid terror is a guarantee for direct expression, going much further than twentieth century digital mechanisation.
Lucid Terror played in the Roxy (Amsterdam), Nighttown (Rotterdam), the Triple X festival in Amsterdam, the Aalto Ballet (Essen), Tivoli (Utrecht), the Korzo Theater (The Hague). Moreover they often work together with such choreographers as Pieter de Ruiter and the choreographers duo Elshout en Händeler.
